Shah Deniz consortium selects TAP for Italy pipeline option

LONDON, Feb 20 (Reuters) - The consortium developing Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz II gas field has narrowed the number of groups competing to build infrastructure to carry gas to Europe by selecting the TAP project for the Italy pipeline option. The consortium would prefer TAP as its partner should it decide to send the gas through Turkey to Italy, a spokesman for BP told Reuters on Monday.
